She'd been watching from above, a lone traveler braving the harsh elements of her domain. It was rare for her to see any life in the sea of sand, rarer for it to be out in the midst of the hot day. If it wasn't for keeping an eye out on her 'guest' she would be taking shelter at one of the oasis's scattered about. Like all the other beings in her realm she was a creature of the time between dusk and dawn.

She thought a moment to herself and then decided to see what the Guest was up to. Might as well get him out of her hair, so she could get back to a sensible schedule...

Character Info

Name: Khensu (childhood name of Desert Jewel)
Age: She isn't sure, just knows that it has been longer then ~ 125 years (when she stopped keeping track)
Description: Her coat is colored in the same pattern as a Violet-tailed Sylph, [Example (back view)] [Example (side view)]. Her crest and back is a metallic green, shading to blue and then a deep purple at the tail. Her chest runs from the green to a golden green, with coral metallic highlights. Both wing feathers and tail feathers are a deep purple with turquoise to blue highlights. Her horn and hooves are silver. Her mane and tail hairs fade from deep purple, to blue, and then turquoise tips. Her whole body is also iridescent.
Personality: She has a quiet strength about her that most people under estimate when they first meet her. She is stubborn, and is used to getting her own way in things. She is also a fighter, and will not back down from a fight, unless it is something she sees no use in fighting for. Like her name sake she considers herself a guardian and protector of all that exist in her "realm".
History: She doesn't know who her parents were, only that she woke up with a memory of a name, and a voice. She broke out of the shell of her egg to spy an oasis, what was later to become the heart of what she considers her territory. She has never met any like her. She was never inclined to venture out of her land, the thought just has never occurred to her to leave where she was born.
Abilities: She never seems to overheat in the desert sun, nor does she ever freeze in the depths of the night. She has what she calls the luck of the wind, it doesn't matter how still the air is, as soon as she wishes to fly a wind seems to stir around her. She also never seems to get lost, knowing instantly where she needs to go. Khensu never really thinks of them as gifts, just things that she can do naturally.
